Travel photography gives you new perspectives and adventures. It can take you out of your comfort zone and expose you to new and interesting climates and experiences. I try to have a new adventure to look forward to at least each year. My theory is that the closer you can get to the action the better you are. Follow my tips on getting close to the action so that you have no excuse not to get up to photograph the stars or the sunrise. The most important part of getting the right shot is being there at the right time. If you are near the action, then it will be easier to get that, but that comes with some sacrifices. You can’t be a high maintenance photographer if you want to get the good shots. Sometimes you have to forego a good night’s sleep or a bed or shower in order to get it. If it’s important to you to be there, then the rest won’t be much of a sacrifice.
